First, a little about myself. I have been a licensed Realtor for 21 years. I grew up in a Real Estate family. My mom has been a Realtor since I was 8 years old. I always swore I would never do it because I saw the crazy hours she kept. Then I grew up and went to college. Got my degree in Psychology, and guess what I'm doing now? YEP! Go figure!
My husband Ryan and I will celebrate our 19 year anniversary in October. We have 3 AMAZING children. Jason will be 16 in less than a week. (Lord help me)! Andrew is 13. And Sarah Beth will be 8 in August. They are all in different schools, and they all do different things. To say our life is a little hectic would be an understatement, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
I LOVE my job. And I think I'm pretty good at it. All of my business in 2014 was from referrals. I think that says a lot about the quality of work I do and the way I treat my clients. But it's also sad that NOTHING last year came from out of the blue. That's because, believe it or not. as much as I love my job, and as much as I like talking about my job and helping people, I can't pick up the phone and call people. I know. Crazy, right? What kind of a Realtor can't make phone calls? THIS ONE!!! I LITERALLY start shaking and freaking out every time I try to pick up the phone to call someone. And it doesn't matter if I know them or not, I STILL can't do it. You'd think with my Psychology Degree I'd be able to figure out how to get passed that. But unfortunately, I haven't. :-(
That's one reason I decided to start this blog. I LOVE to write. I can text and email all day long. But I'm not a big fan of calling people. Now don't get me wrong-if you call me, I will GLADLY talk to you. And likely talk your ear off. But don't expect ME to be the one to call. Whether it's for business or pleasure, I'm very rarely doing the calling. But like I said, I LOVE to write. I am hoping this will be a way for me to give out useful information to people, without having to pick up the phone to call them. I'm also hoping it will make me more motivated to learn new things so that I can share them with you guys. Plus, the more I learn, the better I will become as an agent.
So wish me luck. And if you have any real estate related questions, please ask me. If I don't know the answer, I will find it. And then we will BOTH learn something new!
